Day 1: Out in the World

Slowly walking through the rubble, Riley and Quinn glanced about, looking out for any zombies and food. Quinn signaled to Riley, using a system they had made when they were kids so they could talk to each other privately around people. He told her to go check out a burned out store while he stood watch outside.

She stepped through the broken window, her daggers at the ready. She started grabbing water bottles and canned food, throwing them into Quinn's pack.

Meanwhile, Quinn was still standing guard, his rifle loaded. He tapped on the wall, getting Riley's attention. He signaled to her to look for some ammo for him, since he was low. She nodded once and disappeared. She stepped back through the window, holding the full pack, 5 .17 ammo boxes and 7 .22 ammo boxes on top. Quinn nodded to her and leads the way to their temporary safehouse, a gazebo in the park down the street.

Once there, Riley dumped the contents on the floor and began sorting through it. Quinn whispered, "Riles... pass me a water."

She handed it to him and he took a swallow. "So... How are you holding up?"

"Fine."

"Riley, there's no one here. Tell me." Quinn leaned back against the railing, facing Riley.

"I... I miss her Quinn..." She sighed and started cleaning one of her daggers.

"I know you do... I do too." Quinn patted her shoulder, just like their dad would do, making her smile.

Suddenly, they heard rustling in the bushes a ways away. They both instantly stood, their packs on, daggers and rifle at the ready. Riley scaned the area, alert to any sneak attacks.

"Shhh, keep quiet I see two people a little ways off" John whispered to Lucy who was hiding next to him behind the large bush that they had just been looking in for some wild berries. Lucy very slowly took her bow from her back and set an arrow in place.

Riley slowly walked out of the gazebo, stalking toward the bush. She gets about halfway and stops, glancing back to signal to Quinn asking why they haven't attacked. He signals back that he doesn't know but to be prepared.

"Why are they just staring? Why don't they keep moving or some thing"Lucy asks John in a bit of a shaky voice. John looked around the bush to get a better look. "I don't know" he replied

Riley hears talking and announces, "come out. We wont hurt you as long as you dont attack." She motions with her daggers.

Lucy looks over at john, and he slowly nods. john slowly steps out from behind the bush with his two handed sword at the ready."who are you two, and what do y'all want" he asks

Quinn walks over and standard beside riley, pistol drawn and rifle put away. "We live here... for now... we dontwont want anythi g fromI you. what are you doing here?"

Quinn lowers his pistol but keeps it ready. He points to some other bushes. "Those are edible. The ones your at are poisonous. Now who else is with you? You wouldn't be talking to yourself"

John slowly lowered his sword "what are you talking about? i wasn't talking to any one" just as he said that Lucy stepped out from behind the bush smoothing out her long skirt before walking up and standing next to john "its okay John i don't think they are to much of a threat" Lucy says in a bit of a "they wouldn't stand a chance agents us tone while looking them up and down.

Quinn narrowed his eyes at the girl, then remembered his sister. She darted away from him and, with startling speed, came up behind Lucy, a dagger to her neck. "Watch out, little girl... threats can come in all shapes and sizes... " Riley let's her dagger cut lucy's neck, then back away.

before she can back to far away Lucy slams her elbow in to Riley gut then quickly swings her leg around hitting Riley legs and sending her flying towards the ground. "touch me again you piece of trash and it will be the last thing you ever do!" Lucy yells down at her.

Riley lands on her hands and kicks back, hitting Lucy in the gut, sending her flying back. "Oops! Looks like you tripped!" Riley goes and stands beside Quinn, watching Lucy try to get out pf the bush she landed in. Quinn puts his arm around his sister. "You should let your friend know: call my sister trash again, and ill help her finish the job."

John quickly signals to a couple of trees as if telling people to back off. then he helps Lucy up and pulls a sawed off shot gun from his bag and points it at Quinn just as Lucy sets an arrow and aims right at Riley's head "if you or your trashy friend moves even one finger both of y'all will will die. in other words you two lost" john yells at them

Quinn holds riley back as she tries to attack them. "Look dude, we didn't want trouble. We've been living here. We came in peace. Your the ones who insulted us. We did nothing wrong. Now you should quiet down or your attract some zombies." Quinn pulls riley and backs away

john points to Lucy's neck "so her neck just started bleeding on its own, and it looks like your a bit to late on the whole zombie thing" he points to a bunch of undead coming up behind Quinn and Riley. "head back to the house Lucy ill be right behind you" Lucy turns and takes off running

Quinn nods to riley and she runs to the zombies. She starts hacking them to shreds while the boys talk. "Look, im sorry about your friends neck. She shouldn't have taunted Riley. Right now riley is touchy. Im willing to start over and talk everything out with you, even team up, just dont insult my sister when she can hear and she will leave you alone." Quinn holds out his hand to shake.

"yeah I'm sorry to. Lucy shouldn't have mocked y'all like she did......shes going through a really hard time as well so i think it would be best to keep the girls from talking to each other till we get every thing worked out, and unless you two have a place to stay for the night you'd better follow me" john shakes Quinn's hand then starts to turn and run.

Quinn laughs points behind him. "You dont have to run. She cleared them. We can walk. And no we dont have a place so can we crash with you?" Quinn signals to riley and they both catch up to john

"no running is best that was just a couple, and there are sure to be allot more coming this way. this city is filled with them, and we should get inside before the sun fully sets. this way" john leads them down some streets, and up a few flights of stairs until they come in to a small one room apartment."you two make your self's at home while i go get Lucy"

Quinn and riley set their stuff down in the corner. They both start to make their little area up inti their beds like they would normally wince the couch and the one bed look taken.

a while later john comes back in with a very angry looking Lucy right behind him."why do we have to stay here? you know i don't like it here" Lucy complains to john. just then she notices Quinn and Riley "bloody hell what are they doing here?" she points at them."hush they needed a place to stay" john scolds her while bracing the door

Quinn gives riley a look, signing to her to be nice. He then gets up and helps john board things up. Riley cleans her daggers again and then pulls out a tiny minerature dagger out and just holds it, rubbing it softly.

"thank you for helping with the door. are you guys hungry?" john asks. Lucy starts to heat up some caned corn and spam for her and john.

Quinn looks to riley and sees the dagger. "Um... sure... my name is Quinn by the way, my she's riley." He once again holds his hand out, this time to john and Lucy.

"I'm john and this is Lucy" john shakes his hand and then very slowly lucy does the same "Lucy make enough for the all for of us" lucy just gives john the look like are you crazy but does as he asks

The food finishes and Quinn takes his and rileys shares, going over to her and tapping her arm. She pits the dagger away, wipes a tear, and takes the food, eating.

After every one finishes John clears the plates and sits down next to Lucy on the bed "so where are you two from and where are ya headed?" John asks

Riley and Quinn face the other two. For the first time, riley speaks ti both of them civilly. "We're from the mountain of Oregon. We're not really going anywhere, just trying to survive. We heard that there's note books that the scientists left that explain the virus and we want to find it."

Quinn nods and pats rileys back. "Hey squirt, we should sleep. We have a big day tomorrow." she nods and goes to the corner and lays in her spot. Quinn salutes john and Lucy. "Night guys, see you in the morning... hopefully." He too goes and lays down to sleep.

Riley climbs onto the couch and falls asleep quickly. Quinn nods his thanks and sleeps too.

The Rules

1: No excessive swearing. It's understandable if the character is in pain or just does every now and then, but not every other word.
2: Use () or the chat box if you wish to talk out of character.
3: No playing as another persons character, unless they give consent.
4: NO GOD MODDING. No one likes it and it kills the RP.
5: Be respectful and generally nice.
6: Stick to the script. No random pie fights in the middle of a shoot out.
7: Keep the sexual stuff to a minimum. No actual sex, but if your character does have it, just hint at it lightly. remember the creator can delete your message if its too much.
8: Listen to the Mods. They are Kitty and Max. That means if we say no, then no means no.

The Refugees

Riley Wolfe - (Kitty's Character)

18 years old, 5'8", has dark brown hair, bright green eyes, she is Quinn's younger sister. She wears a black gemstone necklace, black converse, dark cargo pants, a black "Monster" brand hoodie with a white tee thats torn and bloody underneath. She is hardened, cold, but is very agile and stealthy. the only person that is able to crack her shell is Quinn. She carries a rucksack for her essentials, a sword strapped to her belt and two daggers strapped to her calves. The sword and daggers are a set that used to be her mother's, before the outbreak. She doesn't let people in easily, after she had to kill her sister, Willow, when she was bitten by a rogue zombie.

Quinn Wolfe - (Kitty's Character)

20 years old, 6'2", he is an exact replica of his sister, with dark brown hair and dark green eyes. He wears a dark red tee and dark jeans, his shoes are brown hightop converse. He carries a camping back pack for the supplies. His weapons are a .22 pistol and a .17 rifle that were his dads. He is very overprotective of his sister, mainly from brotherly love, but also because he feels guilty for not being there to protect them. He is in general friendly and outgoing, very open, but can be deadly when called to do it.

Lucy Sevy - (Max's Character)

17 years old, 5'5", with red hair, deep blue eyes, and glasses, Lucy comes off as a sweet, smart, and sometimes snarky, girl. She has been mainly depressed since the outbreak, the cause being her parents and brother one of the first turned. She wears a tiny silver cross necklace and her mother's wedding ring. She tends to be a bit of a know-it-all, but she puts on a strong front. Deep down, she's really scared. She relies on her friend John to keep herself going. Her talent with knives and throwing them, along with her skill with a bow, shows what her weapons are, but she would rather have John protect her.

Jonathan "John" Hanson - (Max's Character)

19 years old, 6'0", blonde hair, light blue, almost grey, eyes, John is fast thinking and always ready to speak his mind. Before the zombies started to take over, he played rugby, which attributed to his never-back-down attitude. He is very brave and loyal, willing to protect his loved ones at any cost. He grew up an orphan, so he didn't lose anyone, but he does care deeply for lucy, who he loves like a sister. He would doe to protect her if needed. He is very handy with any melee weapons, but he carries with him a sawed-off shotgun he found and a two-and-a-half sword.

Sam Steinway - (Trevor's Character)

27 years old, 6'2", red haired and blue eyed. Sam wears an Air Force Uniform, tactical vest and gloves. He has a tattoo of an angelic grim reaper on his chest. He is outgoing, very protective, agile, moderately strong, has knowledge of advanced military strategy, and extensive hand-to-hand combat training. Trevor was on Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV as a fighter pilot. He has a wife 2 sons and a daughter. He has been through 3 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He regularly works out to stay in shape. He is very handy around mechanical equipment and prides himself in being able to fix majority of equipment. He was Prepping his plane for the daily routine flight when the outbreak hit his base. all flights were grounded, base was put on lock down but a little too late. The infected had already breached the perimeter. He could not get a hold of his family, and rushed to his home. His family was nowhere to be found. He is now wandering around searching for his family and some kind of hope that they are alive. His preferred weapons are a pistol holstered to his thigh, an assault rifle slung over his back, and a knife.

Shortly after joining the group, he goes to look at the electrical panel and never returns. When the group searches for him the next day, they find him with multiple bite marks and long gashes. They bury him and give him a funeral, but not before putting a final bullet in his skull as a precaution so he won't come back.

Jason Stenway – (Ryan’s Character)

30 years of age, 6’5” tall, with brown hair and green eyes. He generally wears a t-shirt with overalls, the straps of the overalls tied at the waist, black work boots, and a dirty, oil stained hat with a bit of chin stubble. Kind, and goofy, yet stern when it comes to it, he was the father of a young boy who died of cancer at the age of 6 and his wife left him for another man. He worked in a mechanics shop, working on electrical components mostly. He was at his house, working on his car, when he heard screams and shouts. He saw zombies attacking his neighbors. He had a bug out kit stashed in his truck. He drove out of there as fast as he could. His truck has a radio, so he can listen for other survivors along the way. He searches now for the outpost he heard of over the CB radio, hoping it could be close. His weapons that he has with him are his trusty hunting rifle, bowie knife, and set of six inch throwing knifes.

Jack "J" Steinweld – (Undead’s Character)

22, 6'2" tall. His hair is brown with red streaks while his eyes are green with gold around the edges. He wears thin edged glasses, a Grim Reaper tee-shhirt, with a red stained hoodie, shorts no matter what, and has a tattoo of a dragon on his upper arm. He carries a bag of fantasy novels and college grade books. He also carries a doll with his dead sisters name on the bottom of the foot. He is a nerd at heart, but is physically built from years of bullying. He is very nice, but mumbles to himself about mathematical equations and scientific theories if left alone for too long. He is extremely loyal, but has a dark side, as well as being a pacifist at heart and hears everybody out. Jack was a college student that had graduated high school early for he had a very high intellect. Before the events that destroyed the planet he was studying the same virus that has infected numerous billions. On the day the virus escaped the lab, he was trying to get home only to get a terrifying call. It was his 14 yr old sister screaming that mom and dad were trying to get into her room and wouldn't stop. He told her he would be there to help, but was to late. He decided to put his family out of there misery with a sword that his grandfather had given him from WW2, and grabbed up his sister doll as a memento for what she had told him a few days earlier. "Never change, no matter what people do to you, you will always see the light they cannot find." On his way through the destruction he grabbed up a few throwing knives that his father and grandfather had taught him to use. And because he knew he was physically built he picked up a few gauntlets from the museum and using what little he knew from welding with his uncle, he reinforced the knuckles with sharp studs for a bigger impact. With all this he sets out to find survivors hoping that his knowledge of the virus can help concoct a cure for the future of the human race. His weapons are gauntlets he found at a museum that cover all the way to his elbows. Made of plate metal, and have reinforced studs on the end for a bigger impact and also inlaid with leather and rubber to avoid blood contamination. Also carries a small arrangement of throwing knives for a quite kill, and a katana as a last resort.
